Giving you a tour of some of the best neighborhoods surrounding Austin. Today I’m giving you an inside look at Provence, one of the newest masterplan communities near Bee Cave, Texas One of the things I love about this neighborhood is that you really feel like you’re out in the Texas Hill Country, a lot of the home sites back to green spaces so you can enjoy all the beautiful views. There’s gentle rolling hills and huge oak trees throughout this community that add to the natural beauty. There’s also a small vineyard that was planted to go along with a French name of the neighborhood, but it’s just for aesthetics. Don’t expect to harvest grapes anytime soon. But if you’re a wine drinker, you’re not too far away from all the wineries in Dripping Springs.
Although it has an Austin address Provence is located right between Bee Cave, Texas and Dripping Springs. Its main entrance is on Hamilton pool road. So you can easily take Hamilton pool to Bee Cave Parkway, and get to all the restaurants and shopping at the Bee Cave Galleria in about 15 minutes. Or you can turn the other way take Hamilton pull the highway 12 and be in the heart of Dripping Springs. And if you want to enjoy a big city life, you’re just 22 miles to downtown Austin.
A lot of families are also drawn to this community because of the schools nearby. It’s zoned for Lake Travis schools and it’s just minutes from Bee Cave elementary and middle school prices in this neighborhood vary quite a bit. So there’s options for a lot of different budgets and sizes of homes. David Weekley and new mark homes are currently building smaller size houses starting in the six hundreds and Weston and Drees homes are at the higher end with drees selling in the low one to one and a half million range.
Provence is a smaller size community, at least by Texas standards, it will have about 1000 homes when it’s finished. The neighborhood is already well underway with a clubhouse and community center with a swimming pool that’s already in use. So you can really get a feeling of what the neighborhood is like when you visit. There’s still a lot of development going on. And you can pick from inventory homes or choose your own lot and build from scratch.
My only criticism if I had to find one on this community is just the construction along the Hamilton pool road. It’s in the process of being widened out which may take a while to complete. So in the meantime, expect some congestion to and from home. But honestly is there anywhere around Austin without some traffic problems. Once that work gets finished, it’s going to be so much easier getting in and out of the neighborhood.
This is a high growth area surrounded by beautiful higher end homes and I think it’s a great place to live. But tell me what you think. Would you rather build new and deal some construction for a while? Or would you rather have a resale home in an already established neighborhood?
