If you’re thinking about moving to Austin, one of the first things you need to figure out is which part of town is going to be the right match for you and your family. So we help our buyers kind of break down an overview of how the city is laid out north south, east west to figure out which part of town makes the most sense for their lifestyle, their budget and their overall goals. In this video, I’m going to break down why North Austin is such a popular choice for so many of our buyers.
One of the big reasons a lot of our buyers move in North Austin is because there’s so many tech jobs located up there. Our tech corridor is located between highway 183 and down Parmer lane. There’s tons of tech industries up there. Apple is one of the most famous ones with its $2 billion campus that was built off of Parmer lane. But there’s also IBM, Facebook, Amazon has offices over towards Pflugerville. But all of these jobs are bringing more and more workers up to the north.
So living in the north part of Austin or even in some of the suburbs and towns outside of Austin such as Leander, Cedar Park, Round Rock and Georgetown, Hutto and Pflugerville. Those are all choices for people that have jobs that are located on the north side.
Second reason that the North side of town is also popular is the price point, you get a lot more for your money if you move a little farther north or out into the suburbs. Just to give you an idea of the city of Austin median price last month was $525,000. But if you go further north into Williamson County, the median price was only 437,000. That can mean a huge difference for a family that needs a big home four bedrooms, five bedrooms, it’s going to cost a whole lot more if you try to do that in the Austin City Limits. But if you go further north and commute a little bit, you get a whole lot more for your money.
The third thing people love about the north side of town is shopping, entertainment and nightlife. The domain is our largest shopping center. It is a huge outdoor mall, but it’s almost become like a second downtown. So it has a ton of restaurants, bars and entertainment that draw a lot of people in. And it saves the time where you don’t have to drive into downtown Austin to enjoy a great night out and the town you can enjoy that closer to home at the domain.
There’s a second shopping center called the North line, which has been Leander. And that’s going to be similar to the domain they’ve already broken ground on it. And so that’s going to bring in even more shopping, restaurants and entertainment for people living on the northwest side of town.
So there’s lots of growth, lots of development happening on the north side, which is one of the reasons so many people are drawn to it. If you’d like to explore any of the neighborhoods or the suburbs in the area, email us so we can send you more information on any of those areas.
